Free, open-source (MIT) Python script by Pixel Harbor that proves your show files, VJ loops and backups copied bit-perfect. Works on macOS, Windows and Linux with Python 3 - no installs.

Usage

python3 harbor-checksum.py make   /Volumes/Show        # writes manifest.sha256
python3 harbor-checksum.py verify /Volumes/Show        # OK / CHANGED / MISSING / NEW
python3 harbor-checksum.py compare /Volumes/Show /Volumes/Backup

The manifest is compatible with sha256sum -c and shasum -a 256 -c. Exit code is non-zero on any problem, so it drops into scripts and cron jobs.
